Eli Smith is a singer, banjo player, guitarist and music producer who grew up in New York’s Greenwich Village. He has recorded for Folkways and Jalopy Records and plays as a solo musician and with The Down Hill Strugglers.  Eli has performed and recorded with John Cohen (New Lost City Ramblers) and Peter Stampfel (The Holy Modal Rounders and The Fugs), and has opened for songwriters Patti Smith and Steve Earle. He can be heard on the soundtrack to Inside Llewyn Davis, Dreamland, Val and more. Eli Smith has performed with The Down Hill Strugglers at the Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, and Newport Folk Festival.
